Kettering Health Network is celebrating the completion of its freestanding Emergency Department (ED) in northern Warren County with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for elected officials, community leaders, and Kettering Health Network and hospital leadership on Tuesday, February 3, at 10:00 a.m. at the entrance to the facility. The new ED is off I-75 at the Springboro/Franklin exit on State Route 73, next to the southbound 75 entrance ramp.
The ED, which will be accredited through Sycamore Medical Center, is 12,000 square feet and cost $10 million. It has 12 exam rooms, and is expected to create 40 new jobs, including registered nurses, respiratory therapists, imaging and lab technicians, and support staff. Four physicians also will be on staff. About 20 of the 40 positions have been filled.
A public open house will be held on Sunday, February 22. The ED will open for business on February 23.
Kettering Health Network also is building a freestanding Emergency Department in Eaton. Construction on that facility is expected to be completed later this year.
