The Center for Wound Healing at Kettering Health Hamilton has been awarded the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Clinical Excellence Award by Healogics, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services. This award goes to eligible wound care centers which score in the top 10 percent on Healogics’ Clinical Excellence measure in the past 12 months.
“The Center for Wound Healing at Kettering Health Hamilton has received this distinguished award based on outstanding clinical outcomes a total of 10 times, and this puts us in the top 10% nationally. Patients seeking help for serious wounds can feel confident in the level of care they’ll receive here,” said Kettering Health Hamilton President Paul Hoover. “My deepest gratitude goes to the wound care team, who deserve this recognition for the work they do every day to make our patients’ lives better.”
Patients with diabetic foot ulcers and pressure ulcers can receive care at the Center for Wound Healing. The Center also helps those with infections and other chronic wounds. Advanced wound care therapies include the use of advanced skin substitutes as well as hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy works by surrounding the patient with 100 percent oxygen to help accelerate wound healing. A recent renovation of the Center for Wound Healing at Kettering Health Hamilton also provides a more comfortable patient experience.
The Center for Wound Healing is a member of the Healogics network. The network consists of over 600 Wound Care Centers offering highly specialized wound care. The Robert A. Warrnier III, M.D., Clinical Excellence Award is named for Dr. Robert A. Warriner III, a pioneer in wound care and the former chief medical officer for Healogics.
