Grandview Medical Center is celebrating its 90th anniversary and is inviting its neighbors and the entire Dayton area to celebrate with its employees and volunteers by hosting a number of events throughout the year.
Grandview was founded in 1926 by three doctors of osteopathic medicine in a home on West Second Street in downtown Dayton with a $25 operating table from World War I. Today the five-story, 296-bed hospital is situated in the historic Five Oaks neighborhood in Dayton on Grand Avenue. Grandview is one of the largest osteopathic community teaching hospitals in the U.S.
To kick off Grandview’s 90th anniversary celebration and in honor of Heart Month, the hospital is hosting a “heART” gallery through the end of February featuring art from more than 50 Dayton-area artists. Artwork includes paintings, sculptures, art glass and custom jewelry. You can view and purchase the art. Gallery hours are:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. (Closed Valentine’s Day)

Other events to celebrate Grandview’s 90th anniversary and heART Month include:
·Painting Class with Raise Your Brush on Sunday, February 21, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. – Raise Your Brush is the premier paint studio in the greater Dayton area. Participants will enjoy an afternoon of instructor-led painting and create their own heart month-themed piece of art. No prior experience is needed. Highly-trained instructors will guide budding artists through the painting process to ensure that each person goes home with their very own masterpiece. The group will paint a Raise Your Brush original called Where Love Grows. The event costs $35, with proceeds benefiting Grandview’s community wellness programs. ·Lunch Bunch on Tuesday, February 23, 11:30 a.m. – Brendan Korpanty, DO, a cardiology fellow at Grandview, will discuss heart health tips. Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. followed by the presentation at noon. The event also features a mini health fair. The lunch and presentation are free, but seating is limited. To register, call. ·heART Show & Health Fair on Sunday, February 28, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. – The art gallery closing reception will end the month-long celebration. The event features free health screenings, heart-healthy cooking demonstrations, art projects for children, music, food and prizes. In honor of Grandview’s 90th anniversary, the event will feature $90 Healthy Artery Screenings. This non-invasive ultrasound screening gives your vascular age and detects your risk for stroke and heart disease. It finds early artery thickening, plaque and abnormal blood flow in arteries prone to plaque. These screenings are a $139 value and available by appointment only. Call 937-395-8492.
