Fort Hamilton Hospital is celebrating its 90th anniversary by throwing a party for the public. The hospital is hosting a Public Safety Fair and Anniversary Fest on Sunday, May 5 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Fort Hamilton Hospital is located at 630 Eaton Ave. in Hamilton.
The event is free and open to the public.
Disney Junior Channel’s Doc McStuffins is the featured guest. The character is a 7-year-old girl who can “fix” toys, with a little help from her stuffed animal friends.
A Teddy Bear Clinic will be open during the event. Kids can bring a sick or injured stuffed toy to the clinic to be examined by a doctor.
Kids of all ages can explore emergency vehicles including a fire truck, SWAT truck, ambulance and a MedFlight medical helicopter. The Butler County Sheriff’s Office will display a truck used by its Bomb Squad and a robot used to inspect devices and situations remotely.
Stop by the Bicycle Safety Station for safety tips and a chance to win a bike.
The event also features a health fair that includes free health screenings and wellness information. A balloon artist, face painting and other entertainment will be provided. The public can enjoy a picnic-style cookout free of charge.
The public is also invited to tour the hospital’s newly expanded cancer center, Kettering Cancer Care at the Carruthers Center.
Visitors who register to attend are eligible to win door prizes. For more information or to register, visit ketteringhealth.org/safetyfair.
