Miguel Gaeta, MD, has been named trauma medical director at Kettering Medical Center in Kettering. He most recently served as trauma medical director at Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek.

Dr. Gaeta joined Kettering Physician Network’s Kettering Acute Care Surgery – Trauma Program in July 2016. He is board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care and is fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Gaeta earned his medical degree from the University of California in Los Angeles. He completed his general surgery residency and surgical critical care fellowship at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.

Prior to joining Kettering Physician Network, Dr. Gaeta practiced at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for seven years as a partner in the division of Trauma, Emergency Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, where he was a general surgeon and assistant in surgery. He served as trauma medical director at Elliot Hospital, a Level II trauma center and an affiliate community hospital of Massachusetts General Hospital. He also served as instructor of surgery for Harvard Medical School.

Kettering Medical Center opened its Level II Trauma Center in 2011 so EMS providers can get seriously injured people to the best care available in the shortest amount of time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The trauma center offers immediate coverage by general surgeons, as well as coverage by specialists in orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, anesthesiology, emergency medicine, radiology and critical care.

Kettering Health Network’s Greene Memorial Hospital, Soin Medical Center and Grandview Medical Center are verified Level III Trauma Centers.
