Justine Sauza and Jennifer Wheeker – Soin Medical Center
“We were tasked with ordering 500 pies to have delivered for employees working on Thanksgiving at Soin Medical Center, Kettering Health Greene Memorial, and Kettering Health Springfield. With limited time to turn this project around and have the pies ready for staff to pick up on Thanksgiving, Justine quickly collected information from leaders to get accurate numbers. Unfortunately, the week of Thanksgiving did not go as planned due to my getting sick with COVID-19. With very little time to make other plans, Justine and Jenny jumped into action and took time during their off hours to come into the hospital and accept the massive delivery. They helped alleviate my anxiety about not being able to physically be at the hospital and by taking charge and ensuring that a large number of pies were situated for pickup by staff. They even drove pies out to Kettering Health Greene Memorial as well. Doing all of this late at night on the eve of Thanksgiving just shows how much they care about our staff and shines a light on the type of individuals they are. Pies on Thanksgiving are a really big deal at our campuses. Justine and Jenny’s actions made the distribution process run smoothly and all staff working on the holiday got their pie as we intended. They did this during a time that they would have normally been spending with family and they did it with no questions asked.”
