
Carey Raines, manager of Outpatient Oncology at Soin Medical Center, received the Alice Jordan Mentorship Award from the West Central Ohio Chapter of the Oncology Nursing Society. The award includes a $250 scholarship to put toward an activity that supports her clinical practice as a mentor or educator.

“Carey is an exceptional Oncology nurse, leader, mentor, advocate, role model, and educator. She goes above and beyond for her team and the patients she serves in our communities. She makes her team feel welcome and they are comfortable going to her with any problem or need. She shares resources and communicates well with her teams. She encourages them to work on process improvement projects to better their departments and assists them with obtaining cancer-related continuing education credits and provides them with the resources to expand their overall knowledge and abilities.
She is a star in helping in emergency situations and quick acting during infusion reactions. She makes those around her feel less stress and at ease just by her presence. Her kindness and compassion are felt by all. Carey receives innumerable Shooting Stars from her teams and providers regularly.”
