Hamilton’s Ridgeway Elementary School hosted a Bengals Flag In-School event Tuesday, May 19, supported locally by Kettering Health.
The Bengals Flag In-School program provides official NFL FLAG kits and curriculum to P.E. classes across Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. The goal is to equip schools with resources that encourage regular physical activity and teach basic football skills.
For this visit, Ridgeway selected 100 students in Grades 3–6 based on behavior, citizenship, and academics. Eligible students were entered into a drawing, and 25 from each grade were chosen. When the Bengals rookies arrived, the entire school participated in a welcome celebration before the event began.
Students then gathered in the gym, where the players and BenGals introduced themselves.
After introductions, the group moved to the field. Students rotated through grade-level drill stations focused on passing, catching, agility, and other fundamentals, all led by the Bengals players.
The event concluded with a flag football game coached by the players, with the BenGals cheering on the sidelines. Players were actively involved in calling plays, leading huddles, and supporting the students throughout the game.
Kettering Health’s partnership with the Cincinnati Bengals is built around a shared commitment to promoting health and wellness in the community. Programs like Flag In-School help bring physical activity directly to students and demonstrate the impact that can happen when schools, healthcare, and professional sports work together. The initiative supports the development of healthy habits early in life and makes physical activity accessible and enjoyable for kids.
