Applications are open for this year’s Hand Day, an annual event that offers free hand surgery to uninsured Dayton-area residents.
Eligible candidates are those who do not have medical insurance and are experiencing any of the following symptoms:
- Numbness or tingling in the hands or fingers
- Fingers that get “stuck” or are difficult to move
- Painful lumps or bumps in the hand or wrist
Candidates must schedule a free one-on-one consultation before September 28 to determine if surgery is right for them. Surgeries will be scheduled for Sunday, October 5. Follow-up care will also be provided at no cost.
All procedures will take place at the Kettering Health Hand Center of Excellence located on the campus of Kettering Health Washington Township.
Those interested in scheduling a consultation should call (937) 558-0184 or fill out the online application form at ketteringhealth.org/handday.
Hand Day is done in partnership with The Kettering Health Hand Center of Excellence, Orthopedic Associates of SW Ohio, TeamHealth, and The American Society for Surgery of the Hand’s humanitarian mission, Touching Hands.
