The Greene Medical Foundation is holding the Circle of Victory Cancer Awareness Walk on Sunday, October 6, at the Fairgrounds Recreation Center in Xenia. The Fairgrounds Recreation Center is located at 210 Fairground Road in Xenia.
This year’s Circle of Victory ambassador is Stephanie Mosier. Mosier is a nurse at Greene Memorial Hospital and received the Circle of Victory grant while fighting leukemia. During the closing ceremony, she will speak about her journey battling cancer.
Check-in begins at 12:30 p.m. with the walk starting at 2:00 p.m. It concludes with a ceremony recognizing those who are living with cancer, remembering those who lost their battle with cancer and celebrating those who beat cancer.
The event will feature music, food trucks, raffle prizes and health information.
Proceeds from the event support the Circle of Victory Fund, which underwrites financial assistance and support for patients facing cancer and receiving treatment at a Kettering Health Network facility in Greene County. The Fund also underwrites medication, wigs, prostheses and other financial burdens that accompany a cancer diagnosis. All funds stay in Greene County and help cancer patients directly.
