People are talking about it.
At Kettering Health (KH), the chief human resources officer says we are โon the verge of something big,โ while the chief information officer calls it โan exciting opportunity.โ
The implementation of Workday at KH officially kicked off March 30 in the Nelson Conference Room on the KH Main Campus.
โWe heard very positive feedback that it struck the right balance of information while building excitement for whatโs ahead,โ said Meranie Haas, a project manager on the implementation. โIt helped create a shared understanding of the vision and reinforced that this is a transformation for our entire organization.โ
Workday is a cloud-based system that connects human resources, finance, and supply chain operations in one integrated platform. The system will enhance data accuracy, visibility, and decision-making across KH. Below is a high-level look at the areas impacted by Workday across the organization:
- Human Resources: Recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, talent development, and workforce planning
- Finance: Budgeting, accounting, reporting, accounts payable, and grants
- Supply Chain: Contracting, purchasing, supplier management, materials management, and logistics
For team members, Workday will serve as a one-stop, intuitive system to manage work-related tasks, including pay, paid time off (PTO), benefits, expense reports, performance reviews, and HR support. By bringing these tools together, Workday will reduce reliance on multiple systems, workarounds, and manual processes.
Managers and senior leaders will also benefit from Workday, having greater access into more robust data, improved visibility into their teams, and streamlined processes for hiring, reporting, and approvals.
โThis project is a top priority for Kettering Health, and we have strong alignment and support from leadership across the organization,โ Haas said. โOur leaders are actively engaged and committed to removing barriers so teams can stay focused and move forward.
The Workday project is well underway and currently in the design phase, where teams are defining how work will be done in the future.
Over the next year, the system will be built and tested, with a planned go-live in mid-2027. After launch, the team will focus on ensuring everything runs smoothly and optimizing the system.
While implementation is still in its early stages, training opportunities and updates will be shared through the Workday Implementation Team as it moves toward the project finish line.
