Over the holidays, the Kettering Health Sports Medicine (KHSM) team came together to make a difference in the Dayton community. On Dec. 18, 2025, staff from all five KHSM locations participated in a Day of Giving at the Dayton Foodbank.
The volunteers sorted items from donation barrels into different bins to be used in donation boxes. Categories sorted included canned goods, drinks, snacks, baking items, soups, pet food, school supplies, clothing, toys and infant materials. They also removed expired or damaged food. The group filled several large bins to help streamline getting food out to the community.
KHSM held a volunteer day in 2024 and plans to make it an annual tradition.
Volunteers who participated included Connor Brown, Austin List, Seth Salisbury, Ryan Beam, George Sandlin, Bailey Lairson, Laura Schucker, Jeff Von De Linde, Zack Hibberd, Patrick Taylor, Kristina Fahrner, Danea Connolly, Elizabeth Katenkamp, Noah Silvers, Chris Cameron, Siobhan Fagan, Spencer Deffner, Katie Jenkins, Corey Whipple, Rex Carpenter, Jaci Summerfield, and Lori Oda.
