Itโs not too late to sign up for the 15th annual Spring Into Health 5k Run/Walk, scheduled for Sunday, April 19. Proceeds from the event go to Good Neighbor House, a Dayton nonprofit thatโs served the region for over 30 years.
Registration can be completed at the eventโs web site. The cost is $40 for adults, and $30 for children ages 0-12.
Good Neighbor House has a longstanding partnership with Kettering Health (KH), and the nonprofitโs mission is to build healthier communities by meeting physical, emotional, and social needs, especially for underserved and uninsured neighbors. Proceeds will help to support medical, dental, vision, and mental health care, as well as food and basic needs assistance for Good Neighbor House.
Kettering Health Young Professionals is a professional development group for KH employees between 20 and 35. The group is focused on creating opportunities for young professionals to connect outside of daily work to foster growth, inspiration, and networking. They plan a few speaking events during the year, as well as some social events.
Race-day festivities will begin at 8 a.m., Sunday, April 19, at Kettering College (3737 Southern Blvd., Kettering, Ohio). Participants and volunteers are asked to park in the large lot across from college. The 5K schedule is as follows:
- 8 a.m., Packet pickup and race-day registration
- 9 a.m., Race start
- 10:30 a.m., Awards
Runners and walkers may pick up their packet for the 5K between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., on Friday, April 17, outside Kettering College, or on the day of the event.
Medals and prizes will be awarded by age group, including overall male and female participants. All finishers will be entered into a drawing for a door prize.
