Congratulations to our October Living the Mission Award winners!
The Living the Mission Award is given to people who bring Kettering Health’s mission to life, demonstrating the sacred work of improving the quality of life for people in the communities we serve. They use their own time and resources to transform lives, whether that’s in one of our facilities or out in the community.

Lynn recently went above and beyond for a patient facing financial hardship who needed assistive devices for safe mobility. Understanding that insurance would likely deny coverage, she trialed two canes to ensure they were appropriate for the patient. Anticipating the patient’s same-day discharge, Lynn personally purchased the canes from the gift shop and delivered them herself.
The patient was deeply moved, expressing heartfelt gratitude and saying the gesture restored her faith in humanity. She was delighted with the stylish canes and shared that she would always remember Lynn’s kindness.
Acts like these reflect the very heart of Kettering Health’s mission, supporting patients with care, compassion, and integrity. Lynn’s thoughtfulness and dedication exemplify the profound impact that a single act of kindness can have on someone’s life.
Thank you, Lynn! Your generosity, empathy, and commitment to patient well-being inspire everyone around you and remind us of the difference we can make when we live our mission every day.

Rob Hensley exemplifies the spirit of service, both inside and outside Kettering Health. Before joining transport, he volunteered in the mailroom and as a courtesy driver, and for the past four years, he has been a valued member of the Miamisburg Imaging department. Rob goes above and beyond for his colleagues, cooking large meals for the department during the summer and spreading holiday cheer as “Santa” with pizza for everyone to enjoy.
Rob’s commitment to patients is equally remarkable. He has been seen praying with patients, offering reassurance during scans, and providing comfort to those who are anxious or scared. His compassion has not gone unnoticed—over the past two months, six staff members submitted Stars nominations praising his kindness and dedication.
Rob’s service extends well beyond the hospital. A retired West Carrollton police officer with 28 years of service, he continues to give back to the community through programs such as freezer meals for families in need, bi-monthly blood drives at his church, and initiatives with BOGG Ministries.
Rob’s actions are a true embodiment of Kettering Health’s mission, demonstrating Wholeness, Leadership, and Belonging through his unwavering care for patients, colleagues, and the community.
Thank you, Rob! Your dedication, generosity, and compassion inspire everyone around you and reflect the heart of our mission every day.
