MetLife Pet Insurance benefits employees and their furry friends
Many employees are currently enrolled in the pet insurance, and some of the stories of the ways it’s helped them out and their pets out are below.
Kim Schneider’s Aussie, Remi

Remi was recently diagnosed with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI). Kim shared how the pet insurance offered through Kettering Health has supported her wallet and Remi’s health.
“After three vet visits and the specialty blood test, my vet bill was already up to $750. The prescription for the pancreatic powder and prescription low-fat kibble will be $275/month for Remi’s life. This monthly payment would have definitely been a burden, and I’m more than grateful I took out the MetLife insurance when I got Remi as a puppy.
This coverage has definitely paid for itself over and over. The claims are very easy to file. After proof of a paid invoice for the prescriptions and vet receipts, the reimbursement is sent within 7-10 days. Super easy and very clear-cut!”
Kayla Land‘s Olde English Bulldogges, Pebbles and BamBam

Kayla’s dogs, Pebbles and BamBam, have both experienced many health conditions, including multiple ACL tears and other surgeries since she adopted them, and the pet insurance has been critical in paying for their care.
“There have been a plethora of routine expenses that MetLife has covered for annual checkups, flea and heartworm medications, in addition to Pebbles seeing an ophthalmic specialist as her tear production is not sufficient. MetLife continues to cover some of the visits and her now-lifetime medications.
All in all, we are very thankful for the coverage we have gotten from MetLife. What we liked most about it was that after comparing A LOT of options with MetLife, they gave us the option to split our total annual limit between the two of them. This actually worked out really well because it was like we were only paying for one pet (and luckily, they decided to have injuries in separate years).”
Matthew Graham‘s Cattle Dog, Ember, and Pitbull/Boxer mix, Luna

“I use the pet insurance for vet visits, medication, vaccination, and emergency visits (hopefully not ever needed).
The payments coming from my paycheck also make it very easy and honestly, affordable! I have already talked to multiple co-workers about the insurance as well!”
Brandy Bell’s Maltipoo, Cooper

“We got the full coverge pet insurance that covers maintenance. I have a $150 deductible and they pay 80% after. That includes all his flea/tick and heartworm medications. It even covered his neutering.”
Nicole Lacy’s dog, Remy

“Remy is my certified therapy dog through DOGTORS. He has a big job bringing joy to others, so we use the pet insurance for his annual wellness visits as well as his monthly flea and heartworm medication. This insurance enables us to always ensure that he is in the best health possible so he can continue working and doing what he enjoys.”
Endia Moore’s cat, Dawson, and dog, Max

“We have had Dawson for a few years, and we got him from the Humane Society, but he was overweight. We have been working with our vet, and he has been on a much better diet and working to get down to a healthier weight. He is also going to have surgery to remove most of his teeth from feline tooth decay, and I am not only saving money with his care, but I am also able to get money back from this unexpected expense.
We just got Max and added her to the policy, and we have already scheduled her vaccines and she will be spayed in June. This is another out-of-pocket expense that would not be within reach for us. As much as I love my pets there is not always room in the budget for unexpected expenses they cause, but Metlife has given me peace by ensuring I get a percentage back and there will be fewer hiccups making ends meet after both my pets receive the care they need and I am more willing to seek medical care for them because of it.”
