Congratulations to Mary Ciaramitaro, RN in the Medical-Surgical Unit at Kettering Health Washington Township, the winner of this year’s drawing for a trip to Disney World!
Mary was Kettering Health Washington Township’s April 2023 Employee of the Month and was randomly selected for this grand prize. All staff named Employee of the Month in 2023 were eligible for this drawing, courtesy of Kettering Health and the Dayton Dragons.
As this year’s winner, Mary received
- Four-day, three-night stay in a Disney World Hotel
- Round-trip flights for herself and three guests
- Four, 4-day park hopper passes for use at all Disney World Parks
- $200 in spending cash
Mary was nominated for Employee of the Month by her manager, Angie Madden. Below is the nomination:
“Mary is one of our newer grad nurses and I want to recognize her for always taking such great care of her patients. One patient recently specifically called me after she was discharged from the Medical-Surgical Unit for shoulder surgery. The patient said Mary was an “Earth Angel.” The patient described a situation in the hospital where they had some unexpected and increased bleeding from the shoulder surgery and while the orthopedic resident ran out of the room to get supplies to take care of the bleeding, Mary held the patient’s hand, stayed calm, and “renewed their faith in the medical profession.”
This patient was so impressed by Mary’s professionalism and exceptional care that I feel she surely deserves the Employee of the Month recognition.
Mary is always the first to step in and help others answer call lights and spends those “extra” minutes with her patients each shift, connecting with them and ensuring they receive the safest and highest quality of care. We are so proud to have Mary on our team!”
Family, friends, co-workers, members of KH Washington Township leadership, the Dayton Dragons, and their mascot, Heater, all attended a surprise presentation for Mary. Her co-workers also held a surprise carry-in potluck for her afterward.
