Kettering Health has made adjustments to our executive leadership structure to better position the organization for the future. Below are announcements of the new leadership roles.
Finance Leadership

Tim Ko, who has served as interim chief financial officer (CFO) for the past year, has accepted the CFO role on a permanent basis. Tim’s knowledge of the organization, thoughtfulness, intellect and education will allow him to make a significant long-term contribution to Kettering Health. Tim joined Kettering Health in 2008 and has served in multiple leadership roles in Finance and Operations. Before serving in his current interim role, Tim was the CFO and chief operating officer (COO) for Kettering Health Medical Group.

Wendi Barber, CFO at Kettering Health Main Campus, has been promoted to CFO for Acute Care. Wendi’s career in healthcare finance includes having served as the CFO for both Adventist Health Castle and AdventHealth Hendersonville before joining Kettering Health as the CFO and COO of Soin Medical Center in 2019. In this new role, she will use her deep knowledge of acute care and work closely with Daniel Wolcott to ensure the financial strength of our hospitals and service lines.
Human Resources Leadership

Kettering Health’s new chief human resources officer will be Brooke Harris. For the past four years, Brooke has supported the KH Main Campus, Miamisburg and Troy facilities. Prior to joining Kettering Health, she held multiple HR leadership roles at organizations including the Internal Revenue Service and Department of Veterans Affairs. In this role, Brooke will collaborate with our executive leaders and HR team to create strategies that support employee engagement and retention, recruitment, and overall workforce development. Brooke is committed to helping us recruit and retain team members that desire to contribute to the Kettering Health mission—an enabling criteria for our success.
Kettering Health Dayton President

Michael Brendel, president of Kettering Health Troy, will transition to the role of president at Kettering Health Dayton. An accomplished healthcare leader, Michael’s unique expertise in both hospital and service line operations and knowledge of the community will help him successfully lead the team at KH Dayton. Michael has served Kettering Health in roles ranging from system director of Cardiac Services to vice president for Hospital Clinical and Outpatient Services at KH Miamisburg. During a transition period, Michael will continue to provide oversight and leadership for the team at Kettering Health Troy.
Operational Excellence

As we continue the important work of assessing our market position and enhancing the services of Kettering Health, we have asked Erik Christensen, director of Business Operations at Soin Medical Center, to move into a system leadership role as executive director of Operational Excellence. Erik will support major system initiatives—primarily Kettering Health becoming consumer centric and lowering our cost profile. Erik served more than 20 years in the US Marine Corps and has considerable experience helping organizations enhance operations and manage complex projects.
