Join Paul Hoover, president of Kettering Health Hamilton, and your other KH Hamilton team members and train for the Meyer Brothers & Sons Thanksgiving Day 5K for YoungLives.
Two training plans are detailed in the file linked here, including one for people who may be new to exercise and one for those who are already active. In general, the plans consist of two 30-minute workouts on weekdays (ex: Tuesday/Thursday, or Monday/Wednesday) and one run/walk on the weekend. These are based on Jeff Galloway’s plan, designed to take people from “Couch to 5K.” Pick the plan that’s best for you, and see what progress you can make as you get ready for race day on November 23.
All team members who register for the challenge will receive a water bottle, and those who sign up for the 5K will receive a t-shirt. Participants will also have a chance to win a smart watch, AirPods, or $100 gift card to Dick’s Sporting Goods. More information about prizes can be found on page 6 of the training guide linked here.
Note: If at any point during training your body is telling you to ease up, please do so. If you have questions or concerns, please follow up with your healthcare provider.
