With AI transforming how care is delivered, Kettering Health (KH) is offering its teams tools that empower them to stay ahead of the curve.
Available to all employees, AI Catalyst builds on the system’s expanding suite of AI‑supported resources designed to help teams work smarter and deliver better care.
“This was the only offering we found that was really geared toward healthcare,” said Eric Crouch, the chief information officer at KH. “What we found with AI Catalyst is an opportunity to raise our overall understanding and knowledge of the tool sets available, and, more importantly, how those tools can be safely applied in a healthcare setting.”
Powered by The Health Management Company, AI Catalyst is geared toward all health system team members, equipping them with the guidance needed to understand, evaluate, and implement AI in their daily work routines. A deep knowledge of AI is not required to make the most of the resource.
To sign up for AI Catalyst, navigate to the site and click Login near the top of the page. From there, users are asked to sign in with their KH email and verify their address.
“We’re at a point where anybody in the company can sign up, log in, and start exploring,” Crouch said. “We felt like it was straightforward enough that everybody could benefit. There’s no limitation on who can access it.”
Access to AI Catalyst falls in line with KH’s approach to offer continuing education to all team members, and Crouch says it’s encouraged that the tool is incorporated into those plans. Key components for the site, centered around healthcare and AI, include:
- Access to a resource library
- Research
- Case studies
- Digital learning events
- Subscription to the AI Catalyst newsletter.
As KH continues to augment AI across its systems, most recently with offerings from Abridge for ambient clinical documentation, AI Catalyst should offer a straightforward reference point for everyone to leverage this new technology for different job responsibilities and get more comfortable around AI.
“The ultimate goal is for people to reference it and use it to advance their thinking, leading to innovations we can apply here at Kettering Health,” Crouch said. “AI literacy is foundational, helping us get more comfortable with AI and how we might apply it in ways that make us more productive in pursuit of our mission.”
