Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMMS) recently announced that Kettering Health has achieved Stage Six on the Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM). HIMSS developed EMRAM in 2005 to help evaluate the progress and impact of electronic medical record systems for health systems globally.
“This certification is a testament to the commitment of our physicians, nurses, and staff throughout the health system to provide quality care and safety to our patients with their use of the EMR,” said Eric Crouch, Chief Information Officer at Kettering Health.
Stage Six hospitals have achieved a significant advancement in their IT capabilities that includes:
- Significant executive commitments and investments in core technologies to leverage the EHR’s patient safety, data security, analytics, and care coordination capabilities.
- Being well positioned to provide data to key stakeholders, such as payers, the government, physicians, consumers, and employers.
- Evaluating their data for care delivery process improvements or have already documented significant improvements in this area.
- Creating strategic alignments with their care teams to effectively utilize the healthcare technology environment.
Kettering Health is working diligently to optimize its investment in its EHR, and recently announced its intent to pursue EMRAM Stage Seven.
HIMSS is a global advisor, thought leader, and member-based society committed to reforming the global health ecosystem through the power of information and technology.
