Meet Jacquelyn Moore, scheduler at Sycamore Medical Center. Jacquelyn grew up in Huber Heights, Ohio with her mother Dianne and two sisters, older sister Alicia and her twin, Jessica. She graduated from Wayne High School and currently attends Sinclair Community College for her nursing degree. She has three sons, Owen, Xander and Quentin. Jacquelyn started working at the network four years ago as a barista at the Grandview Medical Center café. She worked there for two years and loved it. During those two years, she developed friendships with many people in the hospital, as she enjoyed learning everyone’s names and expressing her creativity through the delicious coffee drinks and smoothies she’d make for them. That is where she met Yolandi, now her manager in the pre-admission testing department. Jacquelyn shared her interest in growing her experience and feels blessed by the opportunity she was given to work with wonderful nurses, doctors, and staff members that work within her department.
Jacquelyn shares that one of her greatest accomplishments was receiving “Employee of the Month” within her first year with the network. The things that drew Jacquelyn most to the network was the idea of having a career in the medical field, since she knew she wanted to pursue a career in nursing. Working for Kettering Health Network helped her figure out exactly where she would thrive and affirmed her calling to help people. She is inspired by the continuity of care her and her team provide to patients throughout their care experience. As they are one of the first stops patients make when they come in for surgery, they are often nervous or scared. Helping to ease their fears and seeing their success stories is what make Jacquelyn so happy. One piece of advice Jacquelyn shares comes from a Dave Matthews’ song—“the future is no place to place your better days. To me that means don’t give up and keep going. Don’t wait for your better days, make it happen now! I started in the café and plan to keep on moving up in the network. I have a great team that I work with who encourages me. I’m truly blessed.”
