Congratulations to Living the Mission award winners Heather Mahaffy and Lisa Rentz! Heather and Lisa both work in the operating room (OR) at Kettering Health Troy. Heather is a senior perioperative specialist and Lisa is an RN nursing team lead.
The Living the Mission Award is given to people who bring Kettering Health’s mission to life, demonstrating the sacred work of improving the quality of life for people in the communities we serve. They use their own time and resources to transform lives, whether that’s in one of our facilities or out in the community.

“I’d like to give a HUGE shout-out to two of our Perioperative staff members here at KH Troy, Heather Mahaffy and Lisa Rentz. Because of a sudden, unforeseen change in staffing in Central Sterile, Heather and Lisa have gone above and beyond. They’ve embodied a teamwork mentality to keep the OR running smoothly and efficiently until our new associates transition into their roles. Both have learned to order OR supplies in Allscripts and Meperia, in addition to working on PAR levels for our Materials Department. This will help prepare us for our yearly OR supply counts. I am both thankful and blessed to have both Heather and Lisa as members of KH Troy’s Perioperative team. They played an essential role during this transition, and I can’t thank them enough for their willingness to jump in and learn to help when the need arose. They embody Kettering Health’s mission to care for not only their fellow team members but also our patients.”
