The Grandview Foundation awarded a $260,000 grant to Gem City Market for the construction of a teaching kitchen for resident physicians and community members.
Gem City Market is a Dayton co-op that will become a full-service grocery store in Dayton, specifically serving the needs in West Dayton–the second worst food desert in the United States.
This grant is one of many ways the network has supported Gem City Market. The network has invested nearly $400,000 in the market through donations to the market’s capital campaign and a network employee membership drive and matching program, which allows employees to purchase a $100 lifetime Gem City Market membership for only $50. Hundreds of employees have participated in the match program. Click here to learn how you can get involved.
