Starting January 1, 2026, Kettering Health will no longer be in-network with Humana Inc. and Devoted Health, Inc. Medicare Advantage plans. This change will affect a number of our patients. And for some of our own employees, it could impact your insurance coverage as well.
We know how important it is to have continuity in care, especially for those managing ongoing health needs. That’s why this decision wasn’t made lightly. After several months of conversations, we were unable to reach agreements with Humana and Devoted that aligned with our standards for timely, high-quality, and affordable care. Their increasing denials, billing issues, and care delays presented unacceptable burdens that aren’t aligned with our commitment to our patients and team members.
What to Know If You’re Affected
If you’re a Kettering Health employee or retiree enrolled in a Humana or Devoted Medicare Advantage plan, we want to support you through this transition. You can continue using your current plan through December 31, 2025, but to remain in-network with Kettering Health after that, you’ll need to explore other options.
To help, we’ve collaborated with RetireMed, a trusted local Medicare advisor. Their services are free and tailored to your individual needs. They’ll walk you through your plan options and help ensure continued access to care.
Key Enrollment Periods
- Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment (MA OEP): January 1–March 31, 2026
- Annual Coordinated Election Period (AEP): October 15–December 7, 2025 (for coverage starting January 1, 2026)
We will continue to accept Medicare and a range of other Medicare Advantage plans that meet our care and service expectations.
