We make a difference in our communities because of our outstanding people. And in March, we recognized ten team members as Employee of the Month for putting our mission into action each day.
Employee of the Month recognizes the people you love to work with. The winners exhibit Kettering Health’s Standards of Behavior, live out our values, and demonstrate the healing presence practices outlined in Called to Care.
Thank you for impacting the lives of those in our community by fulfilling our mission. Our work wouldn’t be possible without you!

“Recently, when several team members were snowed in and unable to come to work, Jonica went above and beyond by coming in on her days off to assist with the high volumes of wound care needs. Her selflessness and willingness to step in during a critical time made a significant impact on the team and the patients we serve. Not only did Jonica jump into action to support the department, but she also showed tremendous care and concern for her teammates by helping to ensure they got to work safely when their vehicles were unable to make it through the snow. Her initiative in providing rides to her coworkers exemplifies her leadership and commitment to ensuring the entire team is supported.
“Jonica is an outstanding wound care nurse who consistently advocates for her patients and her team. She is always willing to speak up and offer solutions, ensuring that the best possible care is provided. She never hesitates to jump in, whether it’s to help with complex cases or assist her colleagues wherever needed. Her presence with the IMC team is highly valued, and the feedback from her peers is consistently glowing. They rave about her professionalism, expertise, and positive attitude, which has a lasting, positive impact on both her colleagues and our patients. Her contributions go far beyond her clinical skills and highlight her deep commitment to the wellbeing of both her patients and her team.”

“During a routine assessment, Lindsey took the time to truly listen to her patient, who had been persistently complaining of hip pain. Rather than dismissing the concern as part of the patient’s existing condition, she delved deeper into the patient’s history and discovered that they had fallen before coming to the hospital. Trusting her clinical instincts, Lindsey promptly advocated for her patient by notifying the provider and requesting an X-ray of the hip. Thanks to her keen observation and quick action, the X-ray revealed a potential hip fracture that had previously gone undiagnosed.
“Because of Lindsey’s diligence, the patient received the proper care they needed, preventing further complications, and alleviating their suffering. Her ability to listen, assess, and act exemplifies the highest standards of nursing and compassionate patient care. Lindsey is a true asset to our team, consistently going above and beyond for her patients. Her dedication and advocacy make a significant difference in the lives of those she cares for, and she is truly deserving of this recognition. Her attentiveness to her patients’ needs shows her exceptional dedication to caring for her patients as identified in the nomination.”

“A patient was dropped off for his appointment by an ambulance service that left him here with no information. Tricia attempted to contact the nursing home with no luck. She then went through his insurance carrier to track them down. After dealing with customer service and being transferred several times, she learned that the transportation service came back for the patient but did not come to our suite or call us, so they left without him. She advised the insurance company that it was now closing time for us and someone needed to immediately come back for the patient. She assured the patient she would stay with him downstairs and wait until they picked him up. She showed Kettering Health’s best care for this patient who just learned he needed to have heart surgery and was by himself. We are so grateful to have Tricia as part of our team! Tricia showed great care and compassion!”
