Congratulations to Anna Martinez, who earned the Living the Mission Award! Anna works as an occupational therapist in Inpatient Therapy at Kettering Health Main Campus.
The Living the Mission Award is given to people who bring Kettering Health’s mission to life, demonstrating the sacred work of improving the quality of life for people in the communities we serve. They use their own time and resources to transform lives, whether that’s in one of our facilities or out in the community.

Check out Anna’s nomination:
“Anna is an amazing therapist. I was sitting in the SICU documenting when a RN came up and asked if we would be able to see a patient. She said that Anna was in the room with the patient. We go in to talk with Anna and it turns out this patient is not a family member or friend of hers, it is a former patient. Anna said that this patient was a patient of hers from the summer and she has been seeing her once a week since then to check in on her.
“This patient lives alone and does not seem to have a lot of family around so Anna has become that family for her. She came in on her day off to be there for this patient after her procedure and honestly all of it really touched my heart. She is being an advocate for this patient and helping her create a discharge plan that works for the patient.
“Anna is amazing and should keep up the amazing work! I truly think this has really impacted the patient and made a difference to her. It seems that Anna has become her family and been there for her since caring for as a patient back in the summer. Anna is now an advocate for this patient and is being there for her after her surgery.”
