Congratulations to Angela Pitts, who earned the Living the Mission Award! Angela works as a nurse in 2E Short Stay Cardiac at Kettering Health Main Campus.
The Living the Mission Award is given to people who bring Kettering Health’s mission to life, demonstrating the sacred work of improving the quality of life for people in the communities we serve. They use their own time and resources to transform lives, whether that’s in one of our facilities or out in the community.
Check out Angela’s nomination:

“Angie’s patient recovered from her procedure and was ready for discharge. Angie sent the patient’s husband down to get the car and instructed him to pull around to the main entrance. After the patient got dressed, Angie took her down to the main entrance for discharge. When the patient’s husband did not arrive at the main entrance, thinking maybe he got lost going to the car. Angie decided to take the patient to the parking garage where they were parked. Arriving in the parking garage, Angie noticed something was wrong. The patient’s husband was found down, 911 was called, and paramedics were performing CPR. Angie took her patient back inside to a private room and spoke with the patient. From that moment, Angie did not leave her patient’s side. Angie was due to get off work at 8:30 p.m. Angie provided comfort, support, and prayers until family arrived at 11:05 p.m.”
