Throughout 2026, most of the Kettering Health systemโs clinical desktops will transition from traditional Windows desktops to personalized, virtual desktops, supported by Imprivata and running all the applications you currently access.
With this initiative, clinicians will have a new, more personalized way to access tools necessary to provide exceptional patient care.ย The Information Services (IS) team is working diligently to ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption.
Because this change affects different units, offices, and teams in different ways, IS will send targeted guidance to ensure clinicians have the right information at the right time.
Why are we moving to virtual desktops?
This transition is part of an ongoing commitment to a secure, modern, and efficient technology environment. This upgrade brings a more personalized experience to clinical computers, giving clinicians greater control over desktop access, documents, and applications.
ASTRA provides โAlways Secure, Timely, and Reliable Accessโ to the tools needed for effective and safe patient care. Adopting ASTRA creates a more stable, user-friendly foundation that supports daily work and future innovation across the system.
For clinicians, this means a consistent desktop experience across locations and fewer interruptions during patient care.
