Fort Hamilton Hospital has been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
The ACR recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, and breast ultrasound.
"We are honored to receive this distinction from the American College of Radiology," said Linda Reilman, MD, medical director of radiology and women's health at Fort Hamilton Hospital. "Our mission is to provide the highest quality care, and this recognition is proof of our team's dedication to our patients."
The Center of Excellence distinction is a result of peer-reviewed evaluations, conducted in each type of breast imaging by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. Fort Hamilton Hospital achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures, and quality assurance programs.
"This certification is further proof of the excellence in breast cancer care our patients experience when they come to Fort Hamilton Hospital," said Ron Connovich, president of Fort Hamilton Hospital.
