Rehabilitation Therapy Services
At Kettering Health Network, we believe that choosing the right rehabilitation program is critical to your recovery. Our team of physicians, therapists, nurses and staff work together to achieve the highest level of recovery and independence possible. Because we know that each patient has unique needs, we include you and your family to provide an individualized and comprehensive treatment plan.
Rehabilitation Services include:
Physical Therapy: Physical therapists (PT) are licensed and trained professionals that focus on improving functional ability and movement. PTs evaluate each patient and develop unique programs to reduce pain, and improve the quality of life for those suffering from disease and disability. Treatment plans are typically carried out by the physical therapist (PT) or physical therapist assistant (PTA).
Occupational Therapy: An occupational therapist (OT) will help you return to your "day to day" activities, like bathing and getting dressed. An OT also provides services like hand therapy, wheelchair fitting and custom splints. OTs use a variety of tools and activities to assist in your recovery. Occupational therapy is provided by licensed therapists and certified occupational therapy assistants (COTA).
Speech-Language Pathologist: A speech-language pathologist (SLP), also called a speech therapist, is a person who evaluates and treats patients with communication disorders and/or swallowing problems. Speech therapists provide a wide range of services that are specifically tailored to each individual. Treatment may include helping people with memory and attention, forming words and making proper sounds, and swallowing.
