Kettering Health Network makes key senior leadership transitions

November 17, 2015

Kettering Health Network is making several key leadership transitions that will begin immediately and continue through December.

Roy Chew, Ph.D., has been named President of Kettering Health Network. He will be responsible for implementing the structure and providing the oversight that continues the alignment of all eight hospitals and 120+ facilities that are part of the Kettering Health Network.

Chew replaces Terri Day, who is leaving Kettering Health Network. Day joined the network in November 2010 as Chief Operating Officer. She was named President in November 2012.

“Terri has made a significant difference in our network and our community,” says Fred Manchur, CEO of Kettering Health Network. “She led the development of the One Best Practice initiative guiding the organization’s structure to fully operate as one network. We are grateful for her dedicated service to Kettering Health Network.”

Since 2009 Chew was a network Executive Vice President and President of Kettering Medical Center. Prior to that he served as President of Grandview Medical Center. Chew has been with Kettering Health Network for 38 years, and most recently was recognized as "Leader of the Year" by Leadership Dayton in 2015.

In other leadership transitions, Jarrod McNaughton has been promoted to President of Kettering Medical Center and an Executive Vice President of Kettering Health Network. He will provide executive oversight to the hospital while continuing his network responsibilities for marketing and government relations. McNaughton has nearly 20 years of healthcare experience and has been with Kettering Health Network since 2013.

Terry Burns, who is Senior Vice President of Soin Medical Center and Greene Memorial Hospital, has been named an Executive Vice President of Kettering Health Network and Chief Financial Officer of Kettering Medical Center. Burns previously worked at Kettering Medical Center from 2001 to 2007, where he was instrumental in improving revenue and reversing operating losses. After serving as President and CEO of Ukiah Valley Medical Center in California for four years he returned to Kettering Health Network in 2011.

Todd Anderson will serve as an Executive Vice President of Kettering Health Network with responsibility for finance and clinical integration strategy. Anderson most recently was Senior Vice President of Market Strategies for the network. He was previously Chief Financial Officer of Grandview Medical Center.

Rick Dodds has been promoted to President of Soin Medical Center and Greene Memorial Hospital. Dodds has been Administrative Director of Human Resources for Kettering Health Network since January 2014. He has more than 13 years of experience in finance, human resources and hospital operations.

Steve Chavez, who is Vice President of Finance and Operations at Kettering Medical Center, will assume the role of Network Vice President of Contracting. Chavez has extensive experience with Healthcare payors like insurance companies, health maintenance organizations, service contractors and claim handlers, and a strong background in finance.

“Kettering Health Network is well positioned for our future,” says Manchur. “With a seamless transition of leadership, supported by a highly talented and experienced team, we can focus on our strategy to utilize our strengths to improve the care experience for our patients, and continue to make a positive difference in our community.”
