Grandview Medical Center celebrates its 90th anniversary

February 05, 2016

Grandview Medical Center is celebrating its 90th anniversary and is inviting its neighbors and the entire Dayton area to celebrate with its employees and volunteers by hosting a number of events throughout the year.

Grandview was founded in 1926 by three doctors of osteopathic medicine in a home on West Second Street in downtown Dayton with a $25 operating table from World War I. Today the five-story, 296-bed hospital is situated in the historic Five Oaks neighborhood in Dayton on Grand Avenue. Grandview is one of the largest osteopathic community teaching hospitals in the U.S.

To kick off Grandview’s 90th anniversary celebration and in honor of Heart Month, the hospital is hosting a “heART” gallery through the end of February featuring art from more than 50 Dayton-area artists. Artwork includes paintings, sculptures, art glass and custom jewelry. You can view and purchase the art. Gallery hours are:

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. (Closed Valentine’s Day)
